Driving License

Driving License Class B

  • Licenses acquired before 01.04.1980 allow riding a Vespa up to 125 cc.
  • Licenses acquired after 01.04.1980 only allow riding Vespa scooters up to 50 cc.
  • Minimum age for renting a Vespa scooter is 18 years.

Extension B196

  • Allows riding motorcycles and scooters up to 125 cc and max. 11 kW (15 hp).
  • Minimum age: 25 years.
  • Requirement: at least 5 years class B license.
  • No exam – only theoretical & practical training at a driving school.
  • Valid only in Germany!

Motorcycle License (Class A)

  • A1: up to 125 cc, max. 11 kW, from age 16.
  • A2: motorcycles up to 35 kW, from age 18.
  • A (unrestricted): all motorcycles, from age 24 directly, or from age 20 with 2 years A2 experience.
